Tracking your team’s progress on OKRs relies on having the right data at your fingertips. In our previous posts we’ve shown you how Lab5 tracks and evaluates our OKRs using Axy OKR. We find that one of the most useful features of Axy OKR is the ability to pull in data directly from Salesforce into your key result records so you can automatically track your progress. Much of your business’ data may be tracked in Salesforce so it’s easy to report on and monitor in real time. But what happens when your business relies on data from other sources?

What do your team check-ins look like? Whether you have a casual stand-up once a day, or a formalized meeting process, we’re always interested in how teams align and get on the same page.

At Lab5, our check-ins fall somewhere in between formal and informal. We don’t run rigid meetings that put pressure on individual contributors. But we do make sure that regular check-ins are the norm so our team feels supported and has room to get the clarity they need to do their best work. …

“Strategy.” Is there a consulting firm, research shop, or service-oriented business who doesn’t claim to have mastered “strategy?” It’s an alluring word, because it makes a bold promise. Having a strategy means you’ve combed through the data, thought about it, and developed a solid plan. A “strategy” is totally actionable.

Action means direction, and direction helps clarify priorities. We’re constantly looking for the right strategies to apply to our work. To say it’s important is an understatement. Strategy is the most important thing. It is the only thing.

But what does that actually mean? How do you break something so…

At the core of most organizations, there are big dreams and big goals. No matter your sector or expertise, goal-setting cuts to the heart of the work you do each day.

This year, Lab5 set off on a mission to make goal-setting a vital component of our company culture. That’s why we partnered with Axy7 — to make sure we’re keeping our eyes on the prize and sharing this expertise with our clients.

Performance goals aren’t something an organization should haphazardly think about a few times a quarter; they should drive team action and guide each day’s priorities. Since integrating…

Over the past few years, the Salesforce industry has struggled with the same issue that has plagued the tech industry as a whole — a lack of diversity. A common explanation for the lack of diversity and inclusivity has been the hiring pipeline — that not enough women, people of color, and people with diverse backgrounds have the skills and knowledge needed for the roles technology companies are trying to fill. But that is a myth. …

At Lab5, we love to align ourselves with people and organizations who are excellent at what they do. That’s why we’re so excited to announce a strategic partnership with Copado.‍

Copado is an end-to-end DevOps tool that unites Salesforce admins, developers, and architects. It’s built 100% natively on the Lightning Platform, and aims to help Salesforce teams deliver faster, more frequent, and lower-risk releases.

At Lab5, our team works tirelessly to bring our clients solutions that help them get the most out of Salesforce. With our powers combined, we’ll be deploying best-in-class releases, more efficient processes, and happier teams.

What’s DevOps, and why is it important?

“Remote work” has been a major theme for all businesses over the last year. While COVID was an accelerant, remote work has become more common with every passing year. After all, why wouldn’t companies want to avoid massive office overheads, while freeing up commute times and making their staff happier?

Research shows that businesses lose $600 billion a year to workplace distractions, and that remote workers are 35% to 40% more productive than their in-office counterparts. This very obvious win-win for companies and their workers means that fully remote work is going mainstream, fast.

At Lab5, our team has worked…

While in-person event management hasn’t been happening much lately, over the next year we expect to see a return to regular programming. How can event and conference organizers use CRMs to step up their event management?

Even for the most organized person in the world, managing events is challenging. There’s so much to think about, from logistics to communication, to marketing and the actual event content. Then, for everything you’ve anticipated, there’s something else that pops up unexpectedly.

If you’re like our clients, you’ve cycled through countless tools meant to make the process easier. Stitching all of these tools together…

Salesforce is everywhere. If your organization has reached a certain size — and deals with external stakeholders — you’ve probably contemplated using it.

But using Salesforce isn’t as simple as installing some software and jumping in. There are many different products, from Sales Cloud to Service Cloud to integrations, Customer 360, and more. How do you know which ones are right for you? If you’re going to use Salesforce, how can you ensure that you’re taking full advantage of the investment?

If you’re reading this, mastering Salesforce probably isn’t a significant part of your day job. That’s why you might…
